Iowa State University Educational Gift Certificate
Gift Giver:
In order to purchase an Educational Gift Certificate for a student, please follow the steps below.
Online:
- Log in to AccessPlus, Iowa State University's secure campus information system.
- Select "Confirmation Number" from the Login Method dropdown box.
- Enter the confirmation number you received from the student and click "Continue."
- Enter the password you received from the student and click "Continue."
- Enter your bank account information, e-mail address, and the gift amount and click "Continue."
- Verify information and select "I Agree" to authorize the payment process.
- Print the gift certificate to give to the student. By selecting "Print Gift Certificate," Acrobat Reader will launch with a PDF version of the certificate that you can print or send electronically to the student. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, download a free copy at http://get.adobe.com/reader.
By mail:
- Make check payable to "Iowa State University".
- Include your e-mail address and the student's name and gift certificate confirmation number.
- Mail check to Iowa State University, 1220 Beardshear, Ames, IA 50011-2044.
- Confirmation of purchase will be e-mailed to you along with a gift certificate which can be personalized to give to the student.
Understanding: Educational Gift Certificates are non-refundable to the gift giver. You
may
not designate or restrict the types of charges on the U-Bill for which the Educational Gift
Certificate may be used. The Educational Gift Certificate will be used to pay expenses on
the student's U-Bill account.
The gift certificate will be held until expenses are assessed to the student's U-Bill account
or
the student no longer attends Iowa State University, at which point the remaining balance of
the certificate will be refunded to the student.
The purchase of an Educational Gift Certificate is not a charitable tax
deduction.
Confidentiality: Information will not be provided relating to the student's university
account (U-Bill) unless the student has waived his or her rights under the Account
Info Release option in AccessPlus.
